Alvaro Enrique Saborío Legers is the Director of Real Estate Maintenance for Mabinsa, S.A., a condominium administration and property management firm based in Costa Rica. Established by Alvaro and his brother in 1990, the firm provides all administrative needs, advertising, marketing, maintenance and security for its properties. He has seen the company grow to become one of the largest property management corporations in the country, with over 600 properties and growing. The Company was managed only by his brother until 2007, when Alvaro actively joined the company.
With a keen interest in business from an early age, Alvaro has over 35 years of professional experience in management and entrepreneurship to his credit. He earned a Bachelor of Art in Business Administration from the University of Costa Rica in 1976, and then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Banking from Tulane University in the United States.
Prior to actively joining Mabinsa, Alvaro was the CEO of a large Agro Industrial Corporation in Costa Rica for 17 years, dedicated to the production and export of Coffee, Melons, Rice and canned Vegetables. Also served for 7 years as the CEO of Banco Cuscatlán de Costa Rica, a prominent bank in the region that was sold to Citibank. He also sits on several Boards of Directors to large Costa Rican Corporations. He credits his success to having the benefit of amazing learning opportunities, as well as the support of his family. Looking ahead, he is excited about a new venture into private security sector, partnering with several businesses and other private entities across the country.
Based out of San Jose, Costa Rica, Alvaro speaks fluent English and Spanish. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys traveling and is an avid reader.
