Ana Maria Rodrigues is a research assistant for Associação Capulana, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the educational development and opportunities for children and youth across Portugal and Mozambique. With over a decade of experience in administration and human rights, she is a passionate advocate for multicultural communication and cross-cultural development. In her role, she is in charge of fundraising for the association, as well as assisting with various projects, marketing, advertising, budget projection, and fostering key client and donor relations.
After earning a degree in International Relations from the Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, Ana Maria went on to complete a master’s in Human Rights and Democratisation from EIUC and in 2009 attended Lehigh University’s Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry.
She launched her career in taxation and financial administration, working in the legal sector and for high-end executives in public relations. Prior to joining Associação Capulana, Ana Maria served as Chief Chapter and Communication Officer for the Global Village Network and returned to Lehigh University in the summers of 2012 until 2015 as Guide and Project Mentor at the Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry.
Fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French, today Ana Maria resides in Cascais, Portugal. Outside of her professional endeavors she is a dedicated volunteer, and has done work with Entreajuda, Medicos do Mundo and IIMA Human Rights. She is also a valuable member of the Europe Region for the International Scout and Guide Fellowship – ISGF.
She loves to embrace new challenges and is dedicated to making the world a better place. In her free time, Ana Maria’s favorite activity is to travel and experience new places and culture.
