As Manager of Environment, Manager of Process Production and Compliance for ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s largest global producers of steel, iron ore, metallurgical coal and earlier Chemical Sector Coordinator for the USAID, Constanza Alzamora is a highly skilled technical and managerial talent. With over two decades of experience in the mining, steel, petrochemicals and engineering sectors, she is seasoned in all aspects of process engineering, which extends from chemical engineering, and has worked in various industrial sectors, including steel and mining, oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals.
After studying Chemical Engineering at Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela, Constanza went on to complete a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in the United States. She launched her career in process engineering, working her way up the ranks at engineering companies for the oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals and steel industries including Davy McKee Engineering, Otepi Consultores, and Kvaerner Clecim. Prior to the ArcelorMittal merge she was Senior Manager of Environment at the Environment Directorate of Arcelor in 2002, and she served as Environment Engineer at Usinor prior to the Arcelor merge.
Recognized as a leader in her field, Constanza is a senior member of the American Institute for Chemical Engineers and the Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela. Her work has taken her all over the world, including across Europe, North and South America, Africa and CIS. She speaks fluent English, Spanish and French, and has been published multiple times in her industry and professional publications. She credits her success to her educational and practical background, which propelled her into bigger and greater opportunities.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Constanza enjoys travel, reading and ballet.
