Edward Ortiz is the owner, founder and principal consultant of EJ Ortiz Security Consulting Services LLC. Established in 2016, the firm offers a rich variety of expertise and advisory services based in great part upon Edward’s more than 25 years of experience in the security, criminal justice, and government administration sectors. Offering service regionally to the northern Virginia and greater Washington, D.C. metro area, Edward offers his clients premiere private intelligence analysis and security operations services.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from the University of Texas at El Paso, Edward joined the United States military, where he served honorably in combat and also abroad in war zones throughout his career. Prior to establishing EJ Ortiz Security Consulting Services, he worked for the federal government and as a government contractor.
In addition to his lifetime membership in the IAA, Edward is a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) Chapter #15, of which he is the Claims Service Officer, and the SIGNA Society of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), for Retired Security Officers. He is an active volunteer through the DAV to help other veterans, and serves as a ready mentor to young officers.
A resident of Warrenton, Virginia, outside of his professional endeavors Edward enjoys traveling, reading, basketball, and racquetball.
