Georgina Serna Hernández is a distinguished psychologist who specializes in higher education. With more than 25 years of experience, she is a Coordinator in the Ethics and Citizenship Department of Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she specializes in evaluation and quality assurance. With a focus on educational research, Georgina explores and measures academic indicators of ethics and citizenship.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Universidad Regiomontana, Georgina went on to complete her Master of Education and Humanities from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. She has a Doctorate in Education from the Autonomous University of the Northeast (UANE) and the Center for the Internationalization of Educational and Professional Competences (CICEP).
Prior to joining the faculty at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Georgina worked in private practice and oversaw the education of university and graduate level students. She taught at the Universidad Regiomontana and Tecnológico de Monterrey and was director of the Department of Social Sciences at the Eugenio Garza Lagüera High School of Tecnológico de Monterrey. In addition, she devised courses to train teachers in the area of didactics in Social Sciences and in the case methodology at Tecnológico de Monterrey and the UANE. Most recently before joining the Ethics and Citizenship department, she served as National Director of the Educational Programs for Social Development.
Also an accomplished writer, Georgina co-authored of the textbook of Economy, Politics and Society, and collaborated with Tecnológico de Monterrey and with the SEP to construe technical revisions of textbooks and Open High School. She served as an assistant, speaker and moderator at the X, XI and XII National Meeting of Distance Education (RENAED), and in the VII Congress of Research and Educational Innovation "Education to undertake and transform."
A resident of Monterrey, Mexico, Georgina speaks fluent English and Spanish. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys travel, sports and reading.
