Magdi Makramalla is Technical Office Manager and Engineer for Orascom Construction Industries, Orascom Construction operates under three distinct and separate brands: Orascom, Contrack and The Weitz, also Orascom has a 50% stake in The BESIX offering engineering, procurement and construction services. With over 30 years of experience in the engineering and construction sector, Magdi has been recognized across his company and nationally as one of the preeminent engineers in Egypt.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, Magdi went on to complete a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the George Washington University in the United States (1984). In 1996, he completed his second master’s degree, receiving a Master of Business Administration from the American University in Cairo.

He is a member of the Egyptian Society of Engineering and a Registered Consultant Engineer in the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineering, and has been featured across media and television for his contributions and expertise.

Magdi was drawn to the engineering field after seeing the need for practical improvements in his country. He has an innovative approach to problem solving, and is passionate about impacting his community in a positive way. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys traveling, reading and swimming. He also participates in charitable work through his local church.
