Miguel A. Venegas is the Executive Director of, NPH International, or Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos™, a Christian-inspired organization dedicated to providing safety, security and resources for children living in extreme conditions. With a decade of leadership at the organization to his credit, Miguel oversees operations across 9 countries and is leading the organization’s transition to deinstitutionalization for orphaned and abandoned children in favor of a community setting.
At the age of 15, Miguel and his two siblings became members of the NPH family in Miacatlán, Mexico. After completing secondary school and his year of service to the organization, he attended an English language program in Yarnell, Arizona. He then earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Tyler, and launched his career in the commercial business sector, working for American Express.
In 1997, after one year of service in American Express, NPH founder Fr. Wasson recruited Miguel to help run the newly opened NPH home in Guatemala as the administrator and accountant. After two years in Guatemala, Miguel returned to Mexico to develop the Finance Department of NPH International, where he served as Director of Finance for six years before being appointed Executive Director.
A true example of an NPH success story, Miguel broke a cycle of poverty and has accomplished his goals in a way that makes a difference for others and helps children to thrive. He is excited to innovate explore new models of caring for orphaned and abandoned children, and feels blessed in his current role for having the ability to enact real and lasting positive change.
