Paul Smith is an international educator, administrator and entrepreneur. With over 30 years of experience in teaching, he recently retired from his post as Head Teacher in the London borough of Enfield. Serving at Whitehall (Chingford) and Grange Park Primary (Enfield) Schools, Paul supervised the program and mentored teachers in both schools. Under his leadership, the schools were highly rated with pupils making excellent progress.
Since retiring in 2015 Paul now resides in Prades, Pyrenees-Orientales, France where he has embraced his second career as a life coach and the owner of Paradis Gite, a holiday home nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees. Offering guests a setting that is both relaxing and culturally stimulating, the gite is situated near points of interest that include: Abbey Saint Michael de Cuxa; The Abbey Saint-Martin du Canigou; the medieval town of Villefranche-do-Conflent and the UNESCO World Heritage site Les Grandes Grottes Canalettes. For the energetic, activities including: skiing, hiking, climbing, fishing are readily available.
No stranger to working in other countries his teaching career his work took him to: Greece, Sweden, Italy, France and the Czech Republic. Passionate about empowering others to reach their goals, he finds many parallels between his teaching and coaching careers. He loves sharing the beauty of southwest France with his guests, helping to broaden other’s worlds while learning about their own.
Paul credits his success to excellent communication skills and his strong self-determination. Outside of running his Paradise Gite and his coaching business, he particularly enjoys travelling and sport, especially rugby.
