Raymond Aumack is a prolific writer, poet, essayist and commentarian. With over 40 years of professional experience in writing, media and social services, he writes novels and stories that comment on modern Christianity, morality, consciousness and the Irish American cultural experience.
After earning an AB in Philosophy from Seton Hall University, Raymond went on to complete a Master of Divinity from Immaculate Conception Seminary. He also holds a Master of Arts in New Testament Studies from Drew University, and is certified in Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapeutic Psychotherapy by the Alfred Adler Institute.
Having enjoyed a broad variety of influence and avenues throughout his career, Raymond spent over two decades in marketing, fundraising and writing for organizations and institutions including Mountainside Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, and the St. Peter's Prep Alumni Association. He retired officially in 2011, but during retirement found a new role as Producer and Host of a monthly interview program on Montclair TV 34. Raymond investigated and covered the social issues that impact the greater Montclair community and northwest Essex County, and covered topics ranging from social services, politics and education to culture.
Raymond’s canon of written work today includes more than 500 articles, including poetry and short stories in professional, academic, and social journals; commentaries on sports, culture, and religion. He is the author of the weekly blog, The Sermon I Wish I Heard, and is a well-known influencer and advocate for Irish American and Irish Catholic issues, dialogue, and development. His novel “Love’s Promises” was published in serial in Ducas, the official periodical of the Irish American Cultural Institute.
Raymond’s written word is celebrated by readers and theologians on both sides of the Atlantic; as a teacher and public speaker his voice offers a clear and insightful analysis and as he grapples poignantly with the issues affecting not just those within the greater Irish community but sharing together the human condition today.
