Shelly Heaven is a management consultant who specializes in strategy, finance and business development, currently making an impact on the Caribbean business landscape. With over 17 years of experience, she is CEO, Board Chair of BrandProfit360 (BP360), a hybrid professional services / venture capitalist firm that she co-founded, which works with start-ups and entrepreneurs. BP360 both offers a range of services to comprehensively develop these businesses, as well as provides capital financing. This allows her to pursue her passion of working with start-ups, dynamic firms and entrepreneurs to solve important problems. Shelly is also an Executive Director with BrandProfit Caribbean, a sister firm of BP360. BrandProfit Caribbean is a professional services firm that focuses on providing strategy, finance, marketing, communications, business development and legal services to a range of businesses across the region. She has direct responsibility for the strategy and business development lines of services. The BrandProfit network is currently setting the trend for a new kind of innovative professional services organisation. It is creating new rules and business models that enable the delivery of real change and tangible results for businesses across the region and elsewhere.
In addition to her roles with BrandProfit, she is the Co-Founder and CEO of FarmLinkr, a revolutionary new firm that is helping farmers to connect directly with buyers, and buyers to directly source fresh produce via its online platform on the local and international levels. FarmLinkr has currently launched in Jamaica, where it is collaborating with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries to reach farmers and large-scale buyers to join the platform. They are also in the process of forming partnerships in Uganda to roll out the platform there.
After earning a bachelor’s degree (Hons) from the University of the West Indies Mona Campus, Shelly pursued and completed her Certified Public Accountancy Examinations in 2003 and subsequently registered as a CPA with the Maine State Board of Accountancy in the US. In 2007 she completed a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of London. Shelly worked as an Accountant for 8 years and held several roles, including CFO, that deepened her expertise in financial management and business development.
In 2008, Shelly transitioned her career from accountancy and financial management in the industry to Management Consulting with PwC in Jamaica, where she focused on Strategy and financial management advisory services for clients across the Caribbean. In 2011, she relocated to London to continue her consulting career with PwC where she specialized in Finance Transformation, working with global corporations across UK, Asia and US. During this time she pursued an Executive MBA with Hult International Business School, which she completed with Distinction, ranked at the top of her class in 2015. During her MBA, Shelly travelled to Shanghai, Dubai and San Francisco, focusing on areas of corporate strategy, business models in emerging markets and disruptive innovation.
Outside of running her companies, Shelly enjoys volunteering, most recently as a Consultant to Grow Movement, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to recruiting professionals globally to work with entrepreneurs from Uganda, Rwanda and Malawi, using telephone Skype and other social media. Shelly worked on 2 projects with entrepreneurs from Uganda, who with her guidance were able to grow sales and profitability by double digits and cut expenses within the 6 months project timeframe.
